To Whom It May Concern:
I am MJR Montoya, an assistant professor of management and global structures at the University of New
Mexico. It is my understanding that Thibaud Rouquet is applying for employment with your company. I am
writing to support his application on the strongest possible terms.
Thibaud was my student in my International Management course during the Fall semester, 2010. This course
challenges students to think critically about globalization while also learning the skills needed to understand
management strategies in the global political economy. He was a diligent student, kind and humble, but always
charismatic and assertive. While many of his peers had great difficulty with some of the theoretical components
of the classroom, Thibaud insisted on opening himself to new ways of thinking critically. He never shied from
the subject matter, and when he had difficulty, he made sure that he asked sincere and well-informed questions
about issues discussed in class. Many times, he made sure that his peers felt comfortable to ask questions,
demonstrating leadership and compassion for his fellow students. I found his work ethic admirable, and I
believe he will be an asset to any graduate community he enters.
Thibaud was able to make challenging and assertive points about complicated subjects, both from an ethical and
from a systemic perspective. His work on cultural difference is not only on par with the most cutting edge work
in the field, he has a grasp for how to deal with complicated issues in the political economy with great ease. He
is articulate, hardworking, and a precocious -- all qualities of a student of great potential. He is an agile mind,
and one that will serve anyone who is willing to give him an opportunity to grow and learn in a business
environment.
As a Rhodes Scholar and public servant, I have taught students at the most prestigious schools in the world.
Thibaud is one of the best students I have ever encountered, and I believe he should be supported in any way
possible. I believe that he is well organized, driven, and ambitious ¨C worthy of your consideration. Please let
me know how I may further support Thibaud.
Yours in service,
Manuel Montoya, Assistant Professor
