Since August 2012, Houbing Song has been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at West Virginia University Institute of Technology & the founding director of both West Virginia Center of Excellence for Cyber-Physical Systems (WVCECPS) and Simulation and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab). He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of Virginia in 2012. His research interests are focused on optical communications, wireless communications and networking, vehicular networking, smart grid communications, and cyber-physical systems.
