I lead the Research Uptake efforts for two of the STRIVE projects - Samata and Samvedana Plus - within KHPT. Samata works to improve secondary school retention and completion of adolescent girls from scheduled castes and tribes. Samvedana Plus works to prevent intimate partner violence within the female sex worker relationships. These projects are understanding structural factors - education, poverty, violence - that increased vulnerability to HIV. My role is to aid the uptake of evidence generated by the project and the simultaneous research, so that there is larger use of the research evidence for the community, practitioners, researchers and for informing policy.
