49. prevention We are taking thoughtful measures to align our business with sustainable practices that make good sense. Through online ordering, proximity shipping and exploring less harmful printing and painting processes, we are changing how we act as a company. Purposefully implementing small steps, we believe, will lead to big results that not only preserves but also improves the environment.
50. ecoLogical the steps we are taking towards sustaining our environment through eco-friendly materials, holistic practice & overall prevention. 51. materials Searching the world for the newest and most innovative materials, we are challenging our suppliers and ourselves to incorporate sound environmental, social and economic responsibility into our products and programs. Experience has taught us that, while a label may say it is green, it may not measure up to either of our expectations. We test and verify these claims so you are assured that it is both an eco-friendly solution and meets the standards that you have come to expect from VGS.
52. practice We understand that going green is more than just the materials. Our holistic approach encompasses the entire lifecycle of your program from design, materials and fabrication to delivery, installation, maintenance and final recycling. By applying our design and manufacturing expertise, we provide comprehensive programs with practical ideas to successfully achieve both your business and eco requirements.

Editor's Notes
At our facility in NYC we have over 40 thousand square feet of manufacturing. We physically make over 90% of everything that we sell. Todays manufacturing technology is continuously changing. When I started in this industry back in 19984 Everything was still pretty much done by hand. The signs were hand painted The dimensional letters were hand cut with a jig saw or on a band saw. There was nor such thing as large format digital printing until maybe 13 or 14 years ago when 3m introduced their new Scotchprint System Today at VGS things are a lot different than thatWe have a 16ft CNC router for cutting out wood and metal forms. there is a 500 watt laser for cutting acrylic We have 7 large format digital printers.
The latest being this durst Rhoe UV printer. It can print directly to almost any substratewood metal plasticsthere is a white station so we can even print a full color image on glass. We can go roll to roll and print on vinyl's and banner materialsWe have tested and successfully printed on fabric. if there is a specific material you want us print on..send it to me or let me know what it is and we will gladly test it.
So much of what we do today , will always require skilled hands and craftsmanship.
Along with the influx of new machineryThere is the never ending search for new materials.
