Taking maths and computing technology and combining it with the application domain to produce visionary and innovative solutions, either at the R&D level or carried through to being a full commercial product or service. Specific application areas include marine and vehicle navigation systems, location based services, e-navigation, electronic charts and maps, and data communications over mobile and satellite links.
Most of my effort is currently concentrated on TeamSurv, a start-up from the CoSuDEC FP7 project that Smartcom Software coordinated, using crowd sourcing for hydrographic surveying.
