Tom L Waters is a physicist, writer, and iris enthusiast in Cuyamungue, New Mexico.
I was born Tom Harvey Little in remote antiquity in the California bay area. My mother and I moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 1972. I've lived in England, Maryland, and Nebraska before returning to New Mexico in 1992. I pursued a scientific career, earning bachelor's degrees in physics and computer science from New Mexico State University and Oxford University in England. In 1990, I received a PhD in astronomy from New Mexico State. Since 1992, I have worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a technical writer/editor, a health physicist, and (currently) a radiation protection manager.
