I was born in the south, in Bengaluru, but my family spoke Hindi after English as my father knew that English was the international language. I never learned any Kannada or Tamil, but I think the script of Kannada is beautiful. We moved to Delhi before my parents died and I was then sent to California to live with my uncle. I remember a few words of Hindi and follow Indian politics still.
