Retired in 2010 as Associate Dean for Students in the College of Architecture, Design and the Arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Currently consulting at UIC as a Special Adviser to the Provost working on projects related to student success. I worked in higher education administration. for over 33 years and was actively involved in international programs and grants. I have been honored with recognitions such as; Chicago American Institute of Architects Distinguished Service Award, UIC CAPE Award, INOMA Lifetime Commitment Award, Osmosis Design Mentor Award, Community Service Award from The Resurrection Project and the 鈥淐ommitment to Education鈥� Award from the Hispanic Ame
