Let's face it- geologists are kinda weird, I mean, they are the people who go camping in the desert (& jungle etc.) just to look at the way mountains were formed and get excited to whack at rocks with their hammers. They also have sizeable rock collections- and are known to haul huge rocks uphill in their backpacks in the name of science. I am one of them... :D
