Sultan Agung was the third Sultan of Mataram Sultanate who ruled during the year of 1613-1645. Under his leadership, the Sultanate of Mataram grown into the largest kingdom in Java and in the archipelago at that time. Due to his services as a fighter and humanist, Sultan Agung has been declared as a national hero of Indonesia based on a Presidential Decree No 106/TK/1975 dated November 3, 1975.
