At May 2005, Walaa joined Alstom Grid Egypt (Areva T&D at that time) as a primary design engineer, worked on several turnkey substation projects in the middle east region (i.e. Egypt, Libya, Algeria and UAE).
At 2008, Walaa was transferred to join Alstom Grid Australia as an expat for Gas Insulated Substation projects in the Pacific region, where he worked on the first GIS project for Alstom in Newzealand since 10 years back then.
After finishing his project in New Zeeland By 2009, Walaa decided to return to Alstom Egypt and shift his career to join Alstom Sales team.
