Walter attended the University of Memphis and founded the Tiger Club Rugby Team in 1984 where he played/coached for two years. He graduated in 1986 with a BBA in marketing. After graduation, he worked as a financial advisor for Fortis Financial Group, a global financial services company. In 1990, Walter formed Roop Financial Services, Inc., an independent wealth management and employee benefit consulting firm located in Germantown, TN. In 2008 and 2009, Walter was selected as one of the FIVE STAR Wealth Managers in the Mid-South.
