Math is indeed a hard subject. I've spent countless hours understanding many of its intricacies and there were plenty of times when I gave up. But after seeing the connections between abstract algebra and number theory to complex analysis and to real analysis, the beauty of math began to unravel. It certainly was a motivation! It would be such a pity not to be able to study it further and to experience how beautiful it really is.
