Moonfruit was acquired in 2012 by Hibu plc (formerly Yell Group) in a $37m deal as an important step in its transformation to a leading global digital services provider and local eMarketplace.
Moonfruit was launched with VC funding in 2000 along with co-founders Joe White and Eirik Pettersen. The business collapsed in the dotcom crash and then bootstrapped, self-funding innovation until raising $2.4m from Stephens (US) and Silicon Valley-based 500 Startups in Sept 2010.
