I was born and raised in Bloemfontein, thus the reason for being a BIG Cheetah supporter. I am the youngest (laat lammetjie) of 7, (2 sisters and 4 brothers). I went to HTS Louis Botha, in my days it was only called HTS Bloemfontein. I am always proud to say that I went to school with one of South Africa’s biggest cricketers, namely Alan Donald. I finished school in 1983.
After school I joined the military, to continue my studies as an electronic technician in the signal corps. I went through the ranks and in 1998 I left the army, my rank was a major at that point of time.
