When I finished high school, I wanted to go to San Luis Obispo and become a technical architect - but got drafted.
Spent 10 years in the Marine Corps as a helicopter jet engine mechanic.
Was even a crew chief for a CH-53 there for a while.
Got a set of combat air wings. ( Operation Eagle Pull )
After the USMC, went to school on the GI bill and got 2 AA degrees.
Technical Illustrator (Graphic Arts) and Design Drafting.
A little over 5 years as various degrees of drafting.
Almost 25 years as a Technical Illustrator. That was really fun work.
