Michelle Richmond is the author of six books of fiction, including the New York Times and international bestseller The Year of Fog. Her new novel, Golden State, and her new story collection, Hum, winner of the Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Prize, were published in spring of 2014. She has written for The Wall Street Journal, The Oxford American, Playboy, San Francisco Chronicle Magazine, The Guardian, The Believer, Coastal Living, and Lonely Planet, among other publications.
