Kia started his PhD studies at Deakin University in 2011. His research is mainly focused on Social Media utilisation in Human Resource Management. Specifically, Kia is interested in investigating the use of Social Media and Social Recruiting technologies as a part of organisations' recruitment strategy.
His work involves exploring potential outcomes of Social Media such as 'employer branding', 'candidate relationship management', 'applicant quality', and 'yield ratio'. His work as a researcher has enabled him to develop a unique perspective on best practices for organizations to adopt and leverage Social Media as an innovative recruitment channel.
