I've lived through twenty-two summers and counting. Life has been good and I'm loving it.
Cake
There are currently 22 layers in this confectionery.
Each layer bound with snow soft cream.
Each sweet and light, oh so yummy.
It is a true beauty.
The first batch, layers 1,2,3!
The base, the foundation of the cake.
Layers 4,5,6 hides under the toilet bowl
But eventually comes out to join the other three.
Layer 6 to 12, baked in a blur
Twelve is bitterweet. Huh. That's funny.
Six has addition of lemon zest.
Eight has strawberry chunk in her.
Layer 13 to 16: Pound cakes, very buttery.
Heavy, crumbly, lack of lemon and strawberry.
Layer 16 is moist! Soaked with tears.
