To my thinking, technology is basically rather meaningless, absent the consideration for how its application can benefit human beings. Feature checklists and benchmarks simply do not (directly) interest me. Rather, I'm far more interested in how farmers in Africa may be able to use SMS on their feature phones to better run their farms than in how a handful of wealthy tech elites can, say, experience an augmented reality with Internet-connected eyewear.
