George Tassere Zanga has 28 years of experience teaching English in secondary schools in Burkina Faso. He has held administrative roles including vice principal and principal. Throughout his career, he has been involved in assessing students for national exams. He is a member of the Burkina English Teachers' Association and is currently pursuing a master's degree focused on assessment, testing, and evaluation. His main interest is developing assessment blueprints that can be effectively implemented in the resource-constrained and large class environments common in African schools.

your assessment responsibilities, in particular): I have been teaching English for 28 years in different
secondry school of Burkina .Meanwhile I was vice principal of koudougou Town Grammar school
from 1993 to 1996 and Principal of Pouytenga grammar school from 1996 to 2004
During all these years I was concerned by assessment as teacher or commited to national exams
administration at the position of deputy jury president as president of jury or as an assessor of
English in its written assessment or in the oral .For the BEPC /O `LEVEL DEGREE we have both and in
Art baccalaureate exam too.
Professional activities (professional groups you belong to, publications, presentations. Please
highlight those related to assessment, in particular):
I am a co-founder of Burkina English Teachers` Association and current member of the E .C board
in charge of Training and Organizing.In a Master study survey about Pupils` Interest to English I
discovered that students are more interested in English at the early stage but are nore interested
years after because of none favorable linguistics environment and mostly because the coefficient of
English is lower than French and Mathematics or Physics and Chemistry.
Currently I am involved in a Master 2 program in Applied Linguistics where
Assessment,Testing,Evaluation have been studied at the University of Ouagadougou.
What most interests you about assessment? This might include particular problems you would like to
solve as you work through content and activities of the assessment
What is challenging for me in relation with assessment is about the Blueprint.How to make it
workable in our African /Burkinabe context of low resource and large class environments.
