 This project seeks out to evaluate the efficacy of a cognitive behavioral treatment for PTSD in
residents of battered womens shelters compared to a controlled condition. Duties include providing
assessments (SCID, CAPS for example); helping in creation of databases using questionnaire
development software (QDS), SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and Access.
Promoting Resiliency and Identity Development through Empowerment (P.R.I.D.E.) [08/2014-present]

Advisor: Amber Hewitt, PhD
 Focuses on the gendered-racial identity development of U.S. ethnic minority adolescents and
the contextual factors that influence this process. Current lab topics include stereotypical roles
of Black young men, racial socialization practices of Black American parents, and critical
consciousness development. As RA, tasked with assisting data collection, literature reviews,
co-facilitating interventions, presentations, and civic outreach.
Program for Anxiety, Stress & OCD (PASO) [08/13-05/2014]

 PASOs primary research focus is on understanding the mechanisms and integrative risk
models that predict symptoms, explain associated features and help inform treatments across
the anxiety and obsessive compulsive (OC) spectrums. Tasked with assisting in all matters of

samples, data entry, literary searches, coding, presenting at recruitment fairs, and any other

 Project CARE is the first program of its kind to adapt a successful stress management program
to meet the unique needs of South Floridas diverse female black population coping with breast.
Assist lead researcher in publishing through literary searches and completing final data entry
