In September 2005 I visited Sal Island, Cape Verde, after having watched the TV programme 鈥楢 Place in the Sun鈥� - Cape Verde earlier in 2005. As soon as I returned to the UK I started writing about my experiences on visiting Sal.
At the time of visiting Sal I was working for a local authority and had been with them for over 30yrs. In December 2015 I decided I needed a lifestyle change and was successful in being granted a 2yr sabbatical and started to plan my move to Sal in March 2006.
The notes of my experiences on Sal become the start of my website 鈥楥ape Verde Tips鈥� which I launched in January 2006.
While on Sal I used my own funds to sustain me and managed to get a little work here ...
