Dr Cobus Pienaar was born and raised in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He graduated from the University of the Free State in 1994 and completed his postgraduate studies in 2005, obtaining all his degrees with distinction. Being registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an industrial psychologist, he was appointed as a senior psychologist and organisational development consultant for a number of organisations. He is presently employed by the University of the Free State as a senior lecturer in the Department of Industrial Psychology and chaired the department from 2007-2010.
