I have been practicing HR as a generalist since 2001 and gained my PHR certification (after much study!) in 2011.
I very much enjoy the variety of tasks associated with Human Resources and have resisted specialization in any one HR discipline. My philosophy on HR is that our function is that of a strategic business partner, mentor, coach and adviser.
If asked in my youth what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wouldnt' have said "Human Resources Professional". However, I have truly found my career niche' and I look forward to continuing to expand my experience and knowledge in the HR field.
