This prayer by St. Francis of Assisi asks God to make him an instrument of peace. It asks that where there is hatred, he brings love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is dispute, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is ignorance, truth; where there is despair, hope; where there is sadness, joy; and where there is darkness, light. It concludes by asking God to grant that he may seek not to be consoled but to console, not to be understood but to understand, and not to be loved but to love.

- 2. Doamne, fa din mine un instrument al impacarii intre oameni ! Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
- 3. Unde este ura, Where there is hatred,
- 4. eu s-aduc iubire, let me sow love;
- 5. Unde e ofensa, Where there is injury,
- 6. eu s-aduc iertare. pardon;
- 7. Unde-i invrajbire, Where there is dispute,
- 8. eu s-aduc unire, Union;
- 9. unde-i indoiala, Where there is doubt ,
- 10. eu s-aduc credinta. faith;
- 11. Unde-i ratacire, Where there is ignorance,
- 12. s-aduc adevarul, the Truth;
- 13. unde-i deznadejde, Where there is despair ,
- 14. eu s-aduc speranta. hope;
- 15. Unde-i intristare, Where there is sadness,
- 17. unde-i intuneric, Where there is darkness,
- 18. eu s-aduc lumina. light;
- 19. O Doamne, fa ca eu sa caut mult O Divine Master, grant that I may
- 20. nu atat sa fiu mangaiat, not so much seek to be consoled
- 21. cat sa mangai eu pe altul; as to console;
- 22. nu atat sa fiu inteles, to be understood ,
- 23. cat eu sa-nteleg pe altul; as to understand;
- 24. nu atat sa fiu eu iubit, to be loved,
- 25. cat eu sa iubesc pe altul. as to love;
- 26. Uitandu-ne pe noi gasim intelegere; for it is in giving that we receive,
- 27. iertand, ni se iarta; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
- 28. murind, inviem pentru viata vesnica.Amin. GLB and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.
