I am a Bangladeshi. After completing my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology from the University of Dhaka, I began my academic career as a lecturer of Sociology at Northern University Bangladesh. I won the Monbusho Scholarship (postgraduate) to study at Sophia University in Tokyo, where I earned my MA in Global Studies. Subsequently, I entered the PhD program in Sociology at the University of California Los Angeles and moved from Japan to the USA. Currently, I am teaching full time as well as finishing my dissertation. I plan to defend my dissertation in May 2015.
