- 2. Taylor 2 2015-2016 Instructor of Record, Southern Illinois University Carbondale: Introduction of Painting I: This class explores basic concepts of painting with oil medium only. The class continues observation primarily with still-lifes and some master studies. Color theory is emphasized in relation to the foundations of drawing. 2015 Instructor of Record, Southern Illinois University Carbondale: Introduction to Drawing II: The beginning of this class reviews the concepts taught in Drawing I through the continuation of observation and of still-lifes. New materials such as ink, watercolor, acrylic, and color pencil are introduced to explain color theory in extension of the foundations of drawing. Extended Summer Discovery Day, Southern Illinois University Carbondale: Gave an artist talk to high school students and taught them about my process of art making and how to mix paint. Students continued to sketch out ideas and make small paintings from their sketches. 2014-2015 Discovery Day, Southern Illinois University Carbondale: Annually, local high schools students interested in the career of art visit the school for a day participating in various workshops.
