I recently spent six months as a women’s hockey beat writer for HockeyNow, writing copy for both their web and print platforms. During this time, I’ve logged hundreds of hours researching, interviewing, writing and proofing copy. My second story became that month’s cover story, I’ve interviewed Hayley Wickenheiser and Marie-Philip Poulin at a Hockey Canada press conference when Gatorade Canada signed their first women’s hockey brand ambassadors and I’ve even interviewed Dani Rylan, the Commissioner of the National Women’s Hockey League.
