MJ started her career as a community organizer and empowering people and institutions to seize ownership for their future remain core values. MJ pursued her passion for personal, organizational and community change in many settings before launching Kaplan Consulting in 2000. In 2013 MJ was Ian Axford Fellow in Public Policy and researched social venture start-ups. When she returned to the US MJ joined the team of Loomio, a digital platform for collaborative decision making. MJ also joined Brown University as adjunct professor in social entrepreneurship.
