Having worked for the Tote very early in life to escape injustice, I travelled many miles to start from scratch as an oven cleaner and soon moved into the pub and leisure industry. My early career put customers at the forefront of the work I did. Wanting to be ahead of the technology of the time, I completed a computer degree in the 1990s, developing programming, website and IT skills in social justice related projects. My career has included working in refuge projects, managing two voluntary organisations, working for the Equal Opportunities Commission, Chwarae Teg, Women's Aid, Brighton Women's Centre, NUS Wales and Working Together Project.
