Special Olympics relies on individual supporters to grow their global community. It provides a fun social environment for athletes with disabilities to benefit from and allows supporters to help local athletes with disabilities improve and demonstrate their skills.

SO College connects college students and individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport to build friendships and help lead the social justice movement of Special Olympics. Created by college students for college students, the network seeks the membership of campuses that seek the common goals of enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and building a more accepting world for all. Sports provide many benefits to individuals and society. For individuals, sports promote health and fitness, are enjoyable to participate in and watch, and can provide career opportunities. For countries, sports are a measure of development and growth, and a large economic market. Sports are categorized as indoor or outdoor. Indoor sports include badminton, chess and table tennis, while outdoor sports include cricket, soccer and field hockey. India has participated in and hosted several international sporting events like the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, winning hundreds of medals overall with success in sports like field hockey and kabaddi.

Most respondents said they would be willing to follow TCP on social media and use the hashtag #TCPIcanwin if their phones were allowed during school assemblies. However, few students had heard of TCP or said it came to their high school. The objectives are to pursue allowing phone use during assemblies to promote the hashtag, and to increase awareness of TCP through social media, educators, billboards, and promotions since many students were unfamiliar with the organization.
