I was born in a small hamlet off Hywy. 140 in the shadow of El Capitan. I was in such a hurry to get here that I didn't wait for the doctor, and I didn't wait to walk before I started running. I was sure of all things as a child, with an all consuming curiosity about the world and its ways. It wasn't until I had children that I understood my mortality.
