SPELT Abbottabad Chapter June, 21st, 2012 Dear Members, This months programme for the monthly sessions is as follows: In Abbottabad, Qazi Anwaar-ul-Haq will hold his session in Modernage Boys College on June 23, 2012 (Saturday) from 2.30 to 3.30 Pm., with the same topic as he did in the month of May with teachers from Haripur in West College, Tehsil Road. He conducted it there as a special session. The regular session was conducted in Universal Public School, Khalabat Township. The topic is: English Phonology in Pakistani perspective. The main emphasis will be on the factors that, on one hand, facilitate us to speak intelligibly and, on the other, hinder us from doing so. In this latter group fall all such sounds of English that have their respective corresponding sounds in Urdu. phonology . In Havelian, Mr. Mohammad Rustam will hold his session in Government Degree College for Boys on 26th June, from 10.00 to 11.00 am. His topic is suggestions for Improving the end -of the- lesson- exercises from a communicative view point In Haripur, Syed Israr Shah will hold his session in West College, Tehsil Road on 30th June, 2012 from 3.30 to 4.30. His topic is Developing Reading Skills. He has prepared a number of activities with the help of which he plans to impress upon his participants the importance of developing varied reading skills on part of the students. The more they read they better they write. The better they read, they become more refined and more responsive in their classroom conduct. .
