My academic research focuses on the reporting of events involving trauma, bereavement or anxiety, particularly concerning the individual family. I have published on narrative styles in death reporting, ethical issues in reporting women asylum seekers鈥� stories, codes of ethics for bloggers, and with Jackie Newton on preparing novice journalists for the death knock, the use of social media in reporting the bereaved and taking a positive approach to death reporting. I also research media reporting of mental health and suicide.
