I got my roots in manufacturing. It鈥檚 where I spent over 20 years of my career. I was hired initially as a journalist with what was then a trailblazing mandate: that each and every employee would become knowledgeable about the important issues, strategies and performance of the company.
By treating employees as stakeholders, we were including and involving people in the work of the business, beyond the confines of their role and traditional hierarchy. The payoff was immediate, constant and predictable.
