For Immediate Release
THE AUGUST GROUP CELEBRATES EIGHT YEARS
                   OF PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE
Networking group flourishes with a little help from 3800 friends

Rochester NY, January 15, 2010: When Tracey Aiello walked into his first August Group
business networking session after being job-downsized in 2003, it was with the hope of making
connections. Little did he know that hed end up making nearly 4,000 of them.

Aiello is one of the leaders of The August Group (TAG), Rochesters premier face-to-face
networking organization for professionals. TAGs mission is to help people return to work or find a
better opportunity through networking. When TAG was founded in 2002, there were less than
one dozen members. In 2010, the ranks have swelled to over 3800. And the good news is, the
    majority of members are employed.

People mistakenly think that The August Group is only for those seeking jobs, said Aiello, who
became TAGs Leader in 2004. In actuality, 80-85% of our members are employed and continue
to network with TAG as a means of recruiting prospective candidates for jobs within their new
    places of employment.

Simply put, The August Group is a 100% volunteer organization of people helping people get
    back to work.

Aiello is clearly passionate about the organization and coordinates many of the 18-24 meetings
held every week. Meetings are divided into general networking sessions; special interests; power
networking groups; and monthly Mega Networking events.

                                                         -2-
TAG works closely with several career and staffing placement organizations such as
RochesterWorks; ER Associates; Lee Hecht Harrison; Career Development Services and others.
In addition, Career Fairs are held twice per year.

The main source of job-finding success remains the multitude of networking sessions held every
week and month. You have to develop a game plan and stick to it, said Aiello. Letting people
know that youre available through personal networking, telling a friend or asking for leads, is
often the key that opens the employment door for many people. You need to be as visible as
possible and act quickly on information. Our meetings are a way to do that and reach as many
people as possible in a short period of time.

In difficult economic times and an almost daily-changing technological backdrop, The August
Group has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. But, Aiello is quick to add that there
is also a growth in job placement. In the first two weeks alone of 2010, Aiello has seen nearly two
dozen job offers materialize through the power of The August Groups networking.

Logistics can be a challenge with such a large and growing membership. Aiello is especially
grateful to Randy Thompson, Manager at the Bagel Bin Caf辿, for donating the use of their
conference room at no charge. We have no funding and there is no fee to join, said Aiello. We
could not have sustained this level of growth if not for the generosity of the Bagel Bin. Their
conference room is ideally suited for private meetings in a comfortable and upscale business
environment, and our members can enjoy a working breakfast or lunch. The setup is perfect.

Future goals for TAG include obtaining not-for-profit status, which would open the door for
funding opportunities while allowing the organization to seek better ways to serve the community.

To celebrate eight years of people helping people, The August Group will host a reception on
Thursday, January 21st from 9:00 11:00 a.m at the Bagel Bin Caf辿, 2600 Elmwood Avenue.
Local dignitaries have been invited. Media are welcome.
