AKIHIKO SHIRAI is a reasercher in VR entertainment.
He is working in GREE VR Studio Lab for vTuber and future development in VR entertainment technologies.
He worked for Canon, Criterion, NHK-ES, ENSAM Presence & Innovation Laboratory in France, Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, Tokyo), and Kanagawa Institute of Technology. Currently he is working in GREE, Inc. as a laboratory director of VR live entertainment team.
Received his Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan in 2004 with research concerning the “Tangible Playroom”, an entertainment system for young children using haptics, a floor screen and a physics engine.
