My job has an external, customer-facing, perspective and a more (Software AG) internal one. As CTO (Chief Technical Officer) I personally advise and assist our strategic clients or high visibility projects on how to identify, demonstrate, and realize the value our technology and solutions could bring to a client's organization and processes. Additionally, I do a lot of public presentations (over 210 so far) generalizing and discussing the experiences of our projects.
