I serve as Program Director for George Washington University's Elliott School for International Affairs. I also direct the Disaster Resilience Leadership program (DRL) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I currently serve as Principal Investigator for our Response Innovation for Somali Emergencies (RISE) Project that is in partnership with USAID/OFDA, World Vision, the Somali Disaster Resilience Institute (SDRI) and the Response Innovation Lab.
My background is in educational psychology. I enjoy working in the field of disaster resilience and particularly enjoy working with innovators/entrepreneurs.
