My extensive experience was mostly gained in New Zealand, the UK, and the USA and has spanned senior management, business consulting, social enterprise, and tertiary-level academic roles. Following an early merchant marine career, I managed a computer-aided design centre at the University of Plymouth before being employed by the Swire Group to lead their marine research institute in Sunnyvale, California.
