Project managers who have managed small projects featuring standard functional drop-in
solutions; aspiring project managers.

Course Objectives:
Learners are introduced to the building blocks of project management, learning how to
define, plan, and manage a project from a practical standpoint. There is a strong emphasis
of the alignment of the practice of project management with three central aspects of best
practice project management: • best practice project structures • how to manage a project
from inception to close-out • project planning and scheduling

 Topic 2: - Project change control - defining project processes and governance

 Topic 3: - Project scoping and control - identify and understanding the project charter
 Topic 4: - Project schedules developing and brainstorming the schedule
 Topic 5: - Project estimation and control techniques – how to manage and report
project estimates
 Topic 6: - Risk and issue management - recording and management relevant risk
 Topic 7: - Project quality management - identifying project success and key project
metrics
 Topic 8: - Project contracts - overview of the project contract process

LIAM DILLON, B. TECH., M. ENG. SC., MPM, PMP, PgMP (Liam is part of the
International Training & consultancy firm Turlon & Associates)

BACKGROUND
Liam has been involved in project management since the early 1990’s, working
with various applications and technologies in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the
United States of America.

His working experience includes all aspect of product development ranging
from the development of disk storage systems to working on the development of
learning programmes for government bodies. Projects complexities have ranged
from $50 million product development to small-scale turnkey projects.

His training portfolio includes all aspects of the delivery and development of
project, program & contract management for industries from manufacturing,
financial, ICT and government. Coupled with his industrial experience, Liam
spends time lecturing on the topic of project management with various Irish and
U.K. Universities as well as having served as the President of Ireland Chapter of
PMI. Liam is one of a handful of people in the country who holds the PgMP accreditation.
