I was born Lottie Vesta Parsons in Wheatland County, Montana, in 1926. My father was a wheat farmer and sheep rancher. I attended a one-room schoolhouse for six years, and the other students were my relatives. Of special note, my grade 1-4 teacher, Anne Benson, remains one of my heroes today and I spent her 99th and100th birthday with her in Harlowton, Montana. I was destined to become a perennial student . .and that's a long story.
