Mark Macarro, currently serving as Tribal Chairman of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, has contributed greatly to his tribe’s cultural preservation, economic growth, and infrastructure improvement since taking office. Under Mark Macarro’s passionate leadership, which spans more than 16 years, the Pechanga Band has opened a successful casino and resort, launched a bilingual school dedicated to teaching Luiseño traditions, and made vast improvements in the safety and living conditions on the reservation.
