The Kizuna Project aims to connect Japan with the world around the first anniversary of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami by collecting and displaying messages of support on digital screens in Japan. The project will run from February 11 to March 16, 2012, gathering messages and sharing recovery videos created by the non-profit Ganbatte 365, which has documented renewal efforts in the Tohoku region. The goals are to update the world on recovery progress, boost awareness that recovery remains ongoing, and allow Japan to express appreciation for global support after the disaster.
