Career:
Shayan works as a researcher and professional lecturer on nutrition and food science, focusing on the role of functional foods and bioactive food compounds in promoting human health. Currently, he is a graduate student in the biochemical and molecular nutrition program at Graduate Center for Nutritional Sciences, University of Kentucky. His main interest is the role of probiotics in the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases.
Shayan also develops unique programs to increase the knowledge of experts, activists and students in nutrition/food science/health related fields about how to start a research, how to lead research projects and how to be a leader in their works.
