Each of these job types has a list of status codes that determine the flow of work . The example shows the setup for the job type CO or Call Out The list of status codes, or status tree, associated with this job type is as follows L Live Job, not assigned A Allocated to a resource eg a technician TTS Travel to Site – on route :Charging begins AOS Arrived at site :Travel completed, ready for work IP In Progress : actually started work, reflects that there may have been a delay in getting access to the equipment etc OSC On Site work completed RSTC Reports and CDs sent to customer ie reflects extra time in writing up reports and logs as requested by the customer C Completed : ready for billing. The same job type could just as well have a simpler status tree of L,A,IP,C (Live, Allocated, In Progress, Completed). Less information, but easy to manage.

This allows the workflow of the job ( and thus the control) of the job to be matched as close as possible to the critical events that need to happen in the field

JobPro Systems Limited www.jobpro.co.nz JobPro – Further Examples Container Movements Import – Inbound Containers (IC) Import Container movements involve uplifting the container from the Container Terminal once Customs etc have been cleared ie status AV. The container is transport to the receiving customer site, swung or placed on the ground – status = BAC = full container at customer. Once the customer has empties the container (MTAC) the container is then transport the receiving depot and officially dehired (status = DEH). Only then can the full container movement be considered complete (status = C) Export – Outbound Containers (EC) Export or Outbound container movements are essentially the opposite on import (inbound) movements. With Export containers, an empty container is taken from the container depot to the customer, the container is then filled by the customer and some time later ( maybe some days) the container is transported to the appropriate container receiving terminal the Port. The status tree reflects these movements

Jobs are sent to the PDA units using the local cellular network. The driver then accepts (or declines) the job. When the package has been picked up the driver changes the status to In Progress. When the delivery is made, the status is changed to complete.

AP Awaiting Parts. Both of these can be highlighted on a single Diary, giving the user a ‘ to be expedited’ list. The Repair job type could be used in conjunction with job types for routine procedure eg Warrant of Fitness, or expanding for larger work eg Appliance Rebuild.
