This document discusses personal protective equipment (PPE) for emergency services responding to incidents. It describes different types of PPE used by ambulance services, police, and fire and rescue services. Examples of PPE include protective overalls, face masks, fire resistant suits and gloves. Case studies are provided of various emergency incidents requiring different PPE, such as a car crash and drugs raid. Students are asked to research additional case studies and identify the appropriate PPE based on the type of incident and intended protection, such as preventing heat or sharp object injuries. Scene safety measures are also discussed, including their purpose to protect emergency services and the public.
