The document summarizes work done on a craft project involving drilling and sanding. It discusses drilling a hole in a chick figure to insert a spring, and carefully drilling a hole in a leaf that the chick will hang from. It also mentions using a hand plane to shape a leaf into a V and sanding the edges of another leaf to give it a curved shape. The next steps will be screwing the leaves onto the base and painting the completed project.

1. Drilling the chick and disc sanding the leaves
2011-5-9
What has been done today?
Today I used the drill to drill a hole at
the top of the chick, for putting the
spring in.
I also drilled a hole on one of the
leaves, because the chick is going to
hang on the leaf. When drill on the leaf
it was hard, because the leaf was
sharp, I need to be slow, or else I might
brake it.
I used a hand plane to make the leaf in
to a V shape, so it can fit between the
other two leaves.
It was hard to use, because it was the
first time I used plane, and I need to
press hard to cut the wood.
The leaf in the middle needs to have a
curve, so it fits with the other parts,
also it looks better.
2. And then at the end, round the edge of it.
Emotion
I really want to paint, because everybody else are painting their project. I
think I¡¯m near to the stage where I can paint. I have to paint a lot, and maybe
I have to mix.
What?s next?
Next I need to screw the leaves on to the base, and then I can paint!!!!!!
Learner Pro?le--- risk taker
I think I am a risk taker, because I like to try hard projects, and to try to make
shapes that are hard to make. I know they are hard, but if I also try hard, I will
be able to make them. It is boring to make the something as other people.
