The 2020 PEC Photo Contest featured finalists in three categories: Beautiful Landscapes & Streetscapes (entries 1-5), Native Plants & Wildlife (entries 6-10), and Wonderful Waters (entries 11-15). The Arts and Letters Committee of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority hosted a red carpet event for the movie Hidden Figures. Attendees were given ID badges with pictures of the three main women from the movie who worked at NASA. After watching the film about these African American women's contributions to the first American astronaut being launched into orbit, attendees received pieces of king cake containing "hidden figures" of baby elephants.

The Knights of Columbus Council 11680 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church will be presenting Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose from February 20th through March 1st, 2015. The play features 13 actors including W. Paul Wade and is directed by Itzy Freidman and Maurice A. Batista. Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. at 5340 High Street in New Port Richey, Florida. On October 23, 2023, The Piedmont Environmental Council hosted a community meeting in Upperville, VA on data centers and associated energy infrastructure. The presentation, given by The Piedmont Environmental Council President Chris Miller, is available to view and download. The presentation focused on transmission line proposals released by PJM Interconnection on September 5, 2023 and the underlying cause: data center demand growth in Virginia. The presentation was followed by a Q&A with PEC staff, along with leaders from Citizens for Fauquier County, Protect Fauquier and The Coalition to Protect Prince William County. PEC's annual report summarizes their activities and accomplishments in 2020. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, PEC was able to protect over 5,000 additional acres of land through conservation easements. They also launched a successful Farm to Food Bank initiative that provided over 25,000 pounds of produce, 30,000 gallons of milk, and 11,000 pounds of meat to food insecure individuals. PEC expanded production at their community farm and farmers market to increase local food availability and support rural economies during the pandemic.

Field experiment was conducted at Tapioca and Castor Research Station during 2014 -15 on evaluation of different sowing schedules (August, September, October and November) and varieties/ hybrids (DCS -107, DCH – 177, GCH – 7 and YRCH – 1) in castor. Among the sowing dates, sowing of castor at 2nd fortnight of August has recorded significantly higher kernel yield (705.8kg/ha) followed by September (497.0kg/ha) over October and November sown plots due to deficit in rainfall. Among the varieties/hybrids tested GCH7 has recorded significantly higher mean kernel yield (597.7kg/ha) in all dates of sowing over other genotypes. GCH7 and DCH 177 have recorded significantly higher kernel yield by taking sowing during 2nd fortnight of August (1046 and 927.6kg/ha).
